PLANNING YOUR JOURNEY
General Advice | Getting Sponsorship | Starting/Finishing | Plan Your Route | Overnight Accomodation

General AdviceFor anyone contemplating doing this trip, there are one or two pieces of advice that may assist you with the decision:

  • Try not to go it alone - a partner can be useful to give you a kick when you wish you had never started!
  • A mobile phone is good, although some areas still do not work well.
  • The organising of the charity bits and pieces and collecting afterwards is often harder than the event itself - so be prepared for frustration.
  • Make sure you have enough money to do the trip - work out a budget for your mode of transport/food/accommodation.
  • Choose your maps and equipment carefully - its no use having something that you're not sure how to use.

Wherever possible we try to give assistance to each event that takes place and assist with a certain amount of PR. The more you tell us about your event the better. We can usually point you in the right direction, should you require specialist help or advice - if we can't help immediately, we will endeavour to find out for you.

On your arrival or departure, we can make site announcements on our public address system, should you wish. This will help boost your event and our visitors will know what is going on!

It is essential, wherever possible, that you tell us of your event in advance, whether it is large or small, so everything runs smoothly.

Please note:

Land's End and John O'Groats are privately owned sites, where we have approximately 500,000 visitors a year.

We do not allow collecting on site, without prior permission.

We do not wish to be involved in any law breaking events and all speed limits for any vehicles and conditions that apply must be strictly adhered to. If there is any doubt, you may be asked to detail, in writing, your event proposals.

Remember we are here to try and assist you, so do please contact the Club Administration Office.
