Sport Relief Million Pound Cycle Ride On Thursday March 4th a group of celebrities that included David Walliams, Fearne Cotton, Miranda Hart, Patrick Kielty, Davina McCall and Russell Howard arrived at Land’s End after completing a gruelling 1,000 mile cycle challenge. This fantastic feat raised over one million pounds for Sport Relief.A large crowd gathered to welcome the cyclists who posed for photographs under the famous signpost before heading into the hotel to freshen up. Later whilst enjoying refreshments David Walliams said of his trip “I am delighted to finally be in Land’s End after what has been an exhausting few days raising money for Sports Relief. It has been a long and tiring journey for everyone involved, but to arrive at such an iconic destination and to such a great reception has been absolutely brilliant. “David and his team at Land’s End have been very helpful throughout, and I would like to personally thank everyone at Land’s End for their superb welcome and hospitality.” Updated: 19th March 2010 |
