Category C award winner – Stuart Morrissey Stuart Morrissey’s journey was not a straightforward end to end. Starting and finishing in his home town of Plymouth, he decided to ride his 125cc motorcycle around the UK in 12 days. A veteran of unusual motorcycle journeys and going by the pseudonym “Madrider 1961”, Stuart encountered a lot of wet and windy weather, traffic and even a fall during his 3,655 mile trip.He was unhurt but sore following the fall in Liverpool but was certainly grateful of his support crew Dougie Fry and Ian Pritchard alongside. His great ride, that followed a route anti-clockwise around Britain, took in some fantastic scenery along the A and B roads and raised almost £4,000 for the genetic skin disorder charity DebRA – The Dystrophic Epidermolysis Bullosa Research Association. Stuart has recently finished yet another journey. Updated: 19th March 2010 |
