Award category E applicant Patrick Cox

Mr TesticlesHe was in fact standing proud in a costume that was supposed to be a giant testicle! The Mr Testicles character was devised to spread awareness of men’s health issues and Patrick, from Malvern in Worcestershire, did the job of hitch-hiking the length of the country wearing the 7 foot mascot costume.
As well as being mistaken for a relative of Mr Potato Head, other problems presented themselves, such as difficulty getting in and out of cars in the large and heavy suit.
Wet weather made life difficult for Patrick and he sometimes found himself struggling to make his scheduled bookings on time as he wanted to follow a route that would see him taking in all the major cities for maximum interest.
When he got the ball-rolling however, during the 18 day trip, he visited the Millennium Stadium; Ricky Hatton’s Gym in Manchester; the National Aquarium; played Ice-hockey, hit the slopes at Xscape and even went white water rafting.
While he was in Liverpool, he was lucky enough to come across the Fab Four.
He met many people that were of tremendous help, and Patrick is ever grateful for all the assistance from businesses and individuals that provided lifts, accommodation and food.
Emma King was on hand the whole way to provide support and relief for Patrick. Kirstie and Laura Hurding, Mike and Matt King, Emily Williams and Natasha Chamberlain were also part of the big help team.
They collected £10000 in sponsorships for the Male Cancer Awareness Campaign.
