PLANNING YOUR JOURNEY
General Advice | Getting Sponsorship | Starting/Finishing | Plan Your Route | Overnight Accomodation

Getting SponsorshipThe majority of End to Enders undertake the task for a chosen charity, the most recent high profile event being Chris Moyles and the Radio 1 team and their ‘Red Nose Rally’. Probably the most popular charities are the Air Ambulance and Cancer Research. You may choose to tailor your event around the charity, for example the recent ‘tuc tuc’ event which stopped at as many Air Ambulance bases as possible en-route, this changed the route mileage from a mere 900milesto a 1700mile event. Please see below for some advice on how to arrange a charity event.

Contact the charity you wish to raise money for to notify them of your planned trip. They may be able to help you out with stickers/merchandise/advice or even PR for your journey.

Draw up a sponsorship form to get your friends, family and colleagues to start pledging.

Choose your sponsors carefully. Some charities may not want to have certain companies linked to them and the other way around. Write letters to your chosen sponsors, including all you can about the plan. If they sponsor you they will want to know what you are doing. Some companies may want recognition or for you to do something in return, so offer to display their logo, whether on a vehicle or on clothing etc.
