PLANNING YOUR JOURNEY
General Advice | Getting Sponsorship | Starting/Finishing | Plan Your Route | Overnight Accomodation

Starting and FinishingThere are 2 main areas at Land's End for this.
There is a start/finish line outside the Custom House, at the entrance to the Land's End site.
Many people also use the signpost on the cliff top. It's up to you as to which one you use. If you would like to access the signpost, please use the back road and DO NOT cycle or drive through the main complex. We request that motorised or large forms of transport ask permission from the duty manager on site before going to the signpost. Please telephone 0871 720 0044 in advance.

At John O'Groats the start/finish line is outside the hotel bar or the sister signpost.

When starting and finishing your event make sure you don’t forget to sign our historic record books at each end!

There are record books at Land's End and John O'Groats which you can sign at the beginning and end of your trek. The transit verification form needs to be completed in order prove you have completed the trip, in order to receive the official Certificate and to join the Club. All forms can be authenticated and stamped, including those provided by the CTC or other groups. Forms like these can also be handy if you have to prove that you did the trip for charity purposes.

At Land's End

The main book can be found at the Land's End to John O'Groats Club Office. If the office is closed the book is kept in The Land's End Hotel Reception. During these times the Receptionist (or another hotel member of staff) will assist you or stamp your documents as proof of being at Land's End.

At John O'Groats

Currently the signing in facility is available at The Journey’s End Café Bar, or outside of their operating hours there are facilities available at the Seaview Hotel.
